Dr Shrath Health Education & Rural Development Society to render free service to the poor people of rural areas in the eradication of blindness. So far we have conducted around 750 free eye camps in rural areas with the co-operation of service other Organisations. We have done around 30000 free catarct surgeries till now. In these camps about 60,000 people have received examination of the eyes & treatment and around one lakh persons have been operated upon for visual rehabilitation with best scientific procedures including microsurgical intraocular lens implantation.
By celebrating the National and other religious festivals, the college fosters feeling of secularism, brotherhood and oneness.
It also gives importance to physical and mental activities to bring about overall development of a child.
Childhood blindness has been the thrust area for the Dr Shrath Health Education & Rural Development Society as the Socio-economic implications of Childhood Blindness are enormous. The modus operandi of this `School Sight Programme’ is training one teacher per government school in various aspects of the detection of Eye problems and blindness in school children and providing them the kit necessary for Eye Examination.
College celebrates Annual day, Sports Day, Teachers day, Ayudha Pooja and all National Festivals Days, Health and Community awareness activities Program etc.
Students are encouraged to take part in various activities inside and outside the college. Field visits are arranged as per the Syllabus to provide enriched learning experiences
Apart from imparting a formal education the college emphasizes in strengthening and inculcating a rich cultural heritage in each student.
